I would say this is my best image because I find it the most appealing and eye catching. This photo also demonstrates various aspects of the assignment we had other than what I listed it for. Most of my photos solely focus on one skill. Other than diffused lighting, it show bull's eye, background control and analogous colors. Due to that, I think that is the reason why I find it the most appealing out of my other photos. It gives you a ton to look at compared to some of my other photos.
I think the most challenging aspect of this assignment was finding things to take pictures of and figuring out how to use light to make my images pop out more. When we started this section, it was still cold. This meant not having a lot of colorful things to capture. So working around this, I tried to capture things not dependent on the weather. When it comes to using light for photos, I feel as that might be a weakness for me. Sometimes I ignore the sun or I don't use it to my best advantage.
Things I can do in the future to help me create stronger photos is to use multiple skills we've learned in one photo. As I said before, my strongest photo from this assignment is one that showed 4 skills. The weaker ones were those that only showed one. I also need to start seeing the world more creatively and whenever I see the chance to take a really nice photo I'd just go for it. I've had ideas walking around campus but I'd get insecure to take them because it would have felt awkward. Lastly, photography is also about creating environments and I feel like I can also do more work in creating scenic photos.
Hi Kimberly!
I find this photo to be so beautiful. Everything about the photograph caught my eye. I love how I can see the little detail of the flower peddles with the blurred background of the many flowers behind it. It reminds me of only focusing on what's in front of you not everything else around you.
Hi Kimberly, Alexander Darby
This photo-like many others pointed out, turned out great! The lighting in this picture and the background blur really bring out the appeal of the flowers. I feel like the viewpoint perspective you took the photo in also gives immediate attention to the flower. Lighting is one of those things I find to be the most challenging. From looking at a lot of students' blogs, I understand it gives a set tone to an image. Like some people pointed out in the comments, the lighting here gives a calm tone, and the simpleness brings out the beauty of the flower. Amazing job on this photo, couldn't do it any better myself.
Diffused Lighting Picture - Hi Kimberly! I️ really loved your photo of the flower in this dozen photo challenge for many reasons. For one, I️ love your use of controlled background because it makes me focus directly on the flowers and nothing else. Because of this controlled background, I️ was able to focus on the flowers -- more specifically, the color of them. This photo helps me to aesthetically evaluate what is being presented in front of me and the meaning and power of this picture. -- Olivia Conroy

Hi Lynn! I really like how this photo turned out! I think you took this photo in an interesting way. The oranges being the main subject, the blue jeans, and your use of light and shadows created a really cool effect. This is also a great example of how the subject of any photo doesn't have to be dead in the center. It's more on the top and I think you choose it that way was a good choice. This photo makes me feel calm but at the same time, it also has an ominous feeling due to the shadows. Even though this photo is heavy with shadows, the oranges still pop out and the blue helps…

This is an amazing photo. I like the way that the background is blurred out, so that you are forced to focus on just the flower. You can still see the other flowers and the buds of flowers in the background which is good because it still adds depth to the image. It definitely can be showing more than one techniques of photography. It is showing diffusion of light, bull's eye, and background control which is great. I really love this picture and the way that it draws you in!
